Initial Consultation

Asuragen provides an initial consultation at the start of any project, before we even provide a quotation.  First, we ask you about the basics of your project:

  • What is the scope, size, and general area of service required?
  • What are your time, budget, and sample constraints?
  • What information and data do you need to complete your project?
  • What are the key risks or concerns?

If your requirements are clearly defined and you haven’t need for a consultation, we can promptly provide you a quote based on this information.  But, if you need input or have further questions, we set up an initial consultation teleconference to review the detailed answers to these questions and enable us to create a Statement of Work (SOW) that is tailored to your study.  Technical experts will participate on this initial consultation so that the process makes efficient use of your time and to structure the study so that you may get as much high-quality information as possible.  Typical consultation questions asked of us include:

  • What has been your experience with your sample of interest?
  • How many biological or technical replicates do you recommend?
  • Can I organize my experimental design to either get more statistical power or answer additional research questions?
  • What is your recommendation for sample collection and stabilization?

This initial consultation begins a process of continued interaction, as described in our ordering procedure, communication and control, and sample processing workflow pages.
