Background
The integration of biomarkers and pharmacogenomic tests into the drug development process is improving drug efficacy, safety and time to market. The utility of biomarkers is further supported by the rapidly growing number of commercial companion diagnostic tests that enable individualized genomic-based medicine. In 2007, Asuragen entered a research collaboration agreement with Merck, followed by additional companion diagnostic development agreements including Biogen Idec in 2009. Today, we are a trusted service partner of many of the leading pharmaceutical companies and are engaged in large scale companion diagnostics projects with a number of these companies.
